THE FOLLOWING TOOLS ARE USED IN SCHOOLTO IMBIBE VALUES AMONG THE STUDENTS
I am an Indian: Our perception, 'I AM AN INDIAN' shows Harmony and Oneness apart from caste and religion. We wish to inculcate it as our pupil's identity which will be the replacement of Caste and Religion. Nationalism is the most important value and we are proud to say "I AM AN INDIAN".
Meditation: Meditation is a practice of mindfulness that empowers one physically, mentally and emotionally. Keeping in mind these objectives, we conduct meditation session every morning for grade 1 to 10 students from 9:15 am to 9:30 am. This morning practice enables students to charge their minds and stay concentrated throughout the day.
Collaboration with Ram Krishna Math: The school follows the curriculum of value education designed by Ram Krishna Math, more specifically thoughts of Swami Vivekananda.
Good Habit Awards: We encourage good habits such as respecting elders by touching the feet and hugging while coming to school, making the bed, maintaining the home, cleaning the spectacles of elders, helping mother to cook food etc. We appreciate students in the assembly with Good Habit Award. Moreover, we keep the photos of National Heroes before their eyes so that these National Heroes become their ideals. Prayer, Meditation and Yoga are performed to maintain emotional balance. Star of the Week and Star of the Month is awarded in appreciation of overall performance of the student.
Geeta Pathan & Agnihotra Chanting: Agnihotra, Geeta Pathan, Ram Raksha chanting etc are the day today functioning of the hostel life. They are usually observed in the early morning by hostel students.
Preaching of Monks: Monks are invited to deliver preaching to the students, teachers and the parent as well regularly to make everyone aware to the spiritual awakening.
Visits to Orphanage & Old-age Homes: Students are encouraged to visit orphanage and old-age homes to see the agonies of these people. Students are found changed in a positive way and are ready to contribute for their own parents as their prime responsibility.
Donations to Orphanage & Old age Homes: Students are taught the art of giving. Thus, the food grains and clothes are collected and are donated to the needy sectors of the society.
Touching the Feet & Hugging: Teachers are always on the forefront to motivate the students to touch the feet and hug the elders while leaving the home/ hostel while coming to school. Students have been showing remarkable growth in this direction.
Self Reliant: School organizes different experiences for its students so that they will become self-reliant in terms of doing their work on their own. They maintain their classroom, they maintain their school bags & lockers and eventually they maintain themselves.
Importance of Cleanliness & Hygiene: Students, here always feel that the cleanliness of their own classroom, the school building/ hostel and the entire campus is their own responsibility. Thus, they try to keep the entire premises neat clean and tidy. At the same time self hygiene is given priority as cleanliness begins from 'ME' first.
Respect for Food: Students are asked to complete the entire plate during Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner. They are taught the importance of not wasting the food by delivering lectures, showing movies and organizing the events like Farmers’ Day.
Grand Parents Day: The biggest asset of our nation is our culture. Family is the important factor in the culture inculcation. Grandparents are the supreme source of spirit. DCPIS conducts Grandparents’ Day in the honour of the grandparent & those who have tremendous treasure of happiness.
Celebration of Spiritual Days: Apart from regular celebrations DCPIS intentionally organizes spiritual days like Gudi Padwa, Raksha Bandhan, Naag Panchami, Christmas, Eid etc. Students are made aware to the scientific rationale behind celebration of spiritual days.
Respect for Parents profession: Students are taught to utter their parents' profession very proudly and confidently. They are taught that all professions are equal, may his/her parents are Doctors or Farmers, Teachers or Businessmen, Advocate or Engineer. All contribute equally in upbringing of every child.
Birthday Celebrations: Birthdays are celebrated in DCPIS to imbibe values. Chanting of Ram Raksha followed by Aukshan, offering Greeting / Value Cards as a token of love & touching the feet etc. The Art of Giving is developed through offering sapling, books & Sports Material to the school. The whole school prays for the long, healthy & successful life of the student.
