Our Inspiration
CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ & SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
Indian history abounds with stories of valorous kings, princes, princesses and warriors; many, who went on to take their clan to the very helm; literally burning their names onto the sands of time. One such story is that of the valiant warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was the real son of India, representing the true consciousness of the nation. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Rayat King & the Invincible Emperor is the eternal source of inspiration to all.
Chh. Shivaji Maharaj possessed every quality requisite for success in the disturbed age in which he lived. He possessed an endurance that made him remarkable even amongst his hardy subjects, and an energy and decision that would in any age have raised him to distinctions. His strength and activity in action were glory and admiration of his race. He was endowed with talents of the highest order and a clear vision, was the only one who stood-up to the injustice. He had also an inspiring and endearing personality which spontaneously commanded respect, loyalty and the highest sacrifices from his devoted soldiery and peasants.
Chh. Shivaji Maharaj was very promising, intelligent and patriotic right from his childhood. Even today, the world remembers him for his ‘never give up’ attitude. The most important quality of him was he was emotionally strong. He was a visionary and above all a good administrator. Being a benevolent ruler, whose valour and chivalry has left an everlasting impression in the pages of history by his Guerilla Warfare Tactics to outwit the enemies and an inimitable concept of ‘Swaraj’, a ‘Welfare State’ stands an idol to our students.
In order to develop all the above mentioned qualities, we impart Life Skills Training in our school. Through various sport competitions we try to imbibe never give up attitude among students. We do cherish his idea of secularism through reiterating a slogan ‘I am an Indian’ on daily basis. We celebrate important festivals of all religions to cherish the idea of secularism and religious tolerance. Students are encouraged to set their goals and to accomplish them.
Moreover, we always strive to imbibe the exceptional virtues of Chh. Shivaji Maharaj’s personality among the students. The qualities like Courage, Generosity, Tolerance, Discipline, Togetherness, Being an Ideal Son, Respect for Women, Rational, etc. are, thus, the part and parcel of day to day life of our students. Therefore, we dare to see our Vision. Furthermore, the skills of his phenomenal Administration are adopted in School Administration as well.
SWAMI VIVEKANANDA & SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
Swami Vivekananda is known as the Modern Monk of India and a staunch advocate of Universal Brotherhood who inspired the world by the legacy of Indian Culture and Scriptures. His inspiring personality is well known to all. His vast knowledge of Eastern and Western culture as well as his deep spiritual insight, fervid eloquence, brilliant conversation, broad human sympathy, colourful personality and handsome figure made an irresistible appeal to the many who came in contact with him directly & indirectly through his thoughts.
In America, he became India’s spiritual ambassador and pleaded in order to create a healthy synthesis of East and West, of religion and science. The Swami’s mission was both national and international. A lover of mankind, he strove to promote peace and human brotherhood.
Vivekananda believed, “Education is the manifestation of perfection already exists in man”. According to him, education is a continuous process; it should cover all aspects of life – physical, material, intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual as well. His educational thought has influenced today’s world as the modern education has lost much of its connection with the values of human life. Therefore, he suggested that education should not be for stuffing some facts into the brain, but should aim at reforming the human mind.
Thus, the School advocates principles like man making and character building of the students based on the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. The seeds like Value Education, Respect for Elders, Chanting of Shlokas, Being Self Reliant, Social Accountability and so on are incorporated in day to day life of the students & staff.
We ensure that students are replica of Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts who shall be the Problem Solvers & Decision Makers. Hence, the qualities like Leadership, Initiative, Stage Daring and Eloquence are visible amongst them. Value education is the corner stone on which the edifice of our school stands on. We provide a wide range of experiences for the furtherance of Values. To enhance concentration, we lay special emphasis on meditation in the teaching-learning process.
We are quite sure that the spiritual awakening started by our school will ignite the minds and hearts of all students and will help them to take these values to the higest peak of global tower. Thus, we dare to prepare a child to be a global citizen with the keys of Knowledge, Imagination & Innovation to unlock the door to a successful future.
