A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
School hostel is not just a hostel where students come and simply stay. Rather it is a second home to every child. Every child is here emotionally attached with his or her dorm parent and Hostel Superintendent. The students share their emotions with them. And the Hostel Superintendent and dorm parents come with the solution. This bonding itself calls the School hostel as a ‘HOME AWAY FROM HOME’.
MANAGEMENT-STUDENT INTERACTION
“Communication is the key to all happy relations”. Boarding students are away from home so they always long for words of care and appreciation. Here, the management members take keen interest in talking to the boarder students and understand their grievances. Students feel free to interact with Hon. President Sir, Chairperson Madam and Director Sir. The daily happenings and short falls are discussed which ultimately leads to arrange the best possible things for the borders. The direct interaction with the management helps to know the ongoing things in a better way. School takes utmost care so that students must feel comfortable and their academics shall go on proper line.
SPIRITUAL AWAKENING
Agnihotra, Geeta Pathan, Ram Raksha chanting etc are the day today functioning of the hostel life. Students are taught to respect each other, help each other and live together as a single family. They have always been given an opportunity to listen to spiritual thoughts. Deliberate efforts are been taken to make them aware to the real heroes of the nation.
REVEL & RETREAT
Students are taught an art of respecting the national symbols. National flag comes on our priority. Every day the boarding students observe Revel and Retreat ceremonies in the honour of Tri-colour. The scene when flag goes high and comes down is one of the memorable experiences in the campus of School.
TRAINING OF PROFESSIONAL COURSES
Training of basic courses are provided to the students by the experts on Saturdays preferably as mentioned below:
SPECIAL GROOMING SCHEME
Students are given an opportunity to work in farm, serving and cooking the food. They have been given Rs. 10/- per hour as remuneration which is further deposited in their bank account. Students purchase gifts for their parents out of their own income a day before going for vacation.
CELEBRATIONS
The important days and festivals are celebrated in the hostel separately, such as Aashadi Ekadashi, Guru Purnima, Deep Amavasya, Raksha Bandhan, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Kojagiri Purnima, Deepawali, Ramzan Eid, Christmas, Makar Sankrant, Holi, Rang Punchami, Gudi Padwa, Ram Navomi, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Hanuman Jayanti, Shiv Jayanti, Shahu Jayanti, Naag Punchami, Blissful Day.
FESTIVE FOOD
Almost all festivals are celebrated in School Hostel. On these days a special treat is given to the students. It includes Puran Poli (Gudi Padwa, Holi, Dushera etc.), Modak & Kheer (Ganesh Chutarthi, Sankashti etc.), Thalipeeth & Kadavu (Naag Punchami), Cake, Sheer Kurma & Biryani (Christmas, Ramzan Eid etc), Special Vegetarian & Non-Vegetarian dishes (31st Dec, Dhuli Vandan etc), Puri & Amrakhand (Blissful Day).
School has maintained this tradition till date to offer its boarder students the first mango to taste on the day of beginning of the new Hindu year i.e. Gudi Padwa.
COMPETITIONS
Intra dorm competitions are conducted once in a month where students are given an opportunity to explore themselves through various activities. Competitions like Skit, One Act Play, Poem & Recitation, Reading, Writing etc.
MEDICAL CARE
Special Medical care is been provided to the hostel students apart from school doctor. Students are referred to the local specialist doctor for the advanced medical treatment. School has recruited on special remuneration specialists like Homeopath, Ayurvedacharya, Pediatric, Ortho & General Physician.
SPECIAL COUNSELING
Students are always guided by the special counseling sessions of School Counselor. The special focus is laid on the areas like study techniques, behaviourial issues, food habits, health and so on.
SPECIAL PARENTING
School Hostel’s Dorm Parents are none the less parents to its students. They are specially trained in the area of parenting so that utmost care is taken to maintain everybody’s innocence & childhood. The lessons of life skills are always on the priority of the dorm parent. Mother’s warmness and Father’s strictness is the combination of the Dorm Parent
OUTING
Students are taken for the outing periodically to be in touch of the nature and to feel relaxation and enjoyment after rigorous work out. Outing is usually scheduled once in a month.
HEAD MASSAGE
The scene of Saturdays is quite unique in School Hostel. You will find students are engaged into head massage in the evenings of Saturdays. The youngest student is at the beginning and the eldest at the end. Students are not supposed to get-up early morning unlike the schedule of Monday to Friday. They may get-up late morning on Sundays.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES
Students are encouraged to write poems, stories, essays, reports and drawing, maintaining hobby etc during leisure time especially on Saturdays, Sundays & other holidays. The same are displayed in Exploration – An Art Craft & Science Exhibition.
WEEKEND POLICIES
A special schedule is observed on Saturdays & Sundays. Students are given an opportunity to explore his hidden talent on these days. Students are found writing the poems, stories, reading, drawing, acting, dancing or simply roaming on the ground.
