Grandparents’ Day Celebration 2026-27
Grandparents play a vital role in the lives of their grandchildren—offering emotional support, unconditional love, and a wealth of life experiences and wisdom.
They serve as role models and nurture strong intergenerational bonds. At times, they become a favourite chef, a captivating storyteller, a patient teacher, and often, a delightful personal game centre.
To celebrate these “capeless superheroes,” Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla International School organised a Grandparents’ Day Celebration on 30th April 2026.
A host of engaging activities was conducted to make the loving and caring grandparents feel truly special. The celebration included a vibrant cultural programme, fun-filled games, and a platform for grandparents to showcase their talents. They also enjoyed delicious delicacies at food stalls along with their grandchildren, creating cherished memories.
The Chief Guests, Hon. Mr. Prasad Khandekar and Mrs. Namrata Sambherao, graced the occasion. The event was also honoured by the presence of President of SSSPSM, Hon. Shri Gulabrao Pol; Vice-President, Hon. Smt. Vijayadevi Yadav; Chairperson, Hon. Mrs. Vidya G. Pol; Principal, Mrs. Shivani Chavan Potdar; and AO, Mr. Sagar Patil. All the dignitaries were delighted to witness the enthusiastic participation of the grandparents.
The Hon. Chairperson addressed the gathering, beautifully expressing that grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure—the founders of a loving legacy, keepers of tradition, and truly one of God’s most precious gifts to grandchildren.
The esteemed guest invitees added charm to the celebration with their lively and witty performances. A significant highlight of the event was the official launch of the revised version of the school website by Hon. Shri Gulabrao Pol.
This initiative by DCPIS was a heartwarming success, underscoring the importance of intergenerational connections and the invaluable role grandparents play in shaping young lives. The celebration stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering strong relationships and nurturing a vibrant sense of community.
