International Yoga Day Celebration

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”Yoga, one of India’s most treasured gifts to the world, is celebrated globally as a powerful symbol of holistic health and well-being. Recognizing its profound impact on physical fitness, mental wellness, emotional balance, and spiritual growth, the United Nations declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of incorporating yoga into our daily lives for a healthier and more harmonious future.
Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla International School, Peth Vadgaon, celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and staff members. The celebration was organized in accordance with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, which emphasizes the inseparable connection between individual well-being and the health of our planet. The theme highlights the interdependence of human health, environmental sustainability, and global wellness, while reinforcing India’s vision of fostering a healthier and more sustainable future for all.
A special yoga session was conducted in the school, featuring various asanas (yogic postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation practices. Students and teachers enthusiastically participated in these activities, experiencing the calming and rejuvenating effects of yoga firsthand.
The celebration aimed to nurture self-discipline, inner peace, unity, and a sense of collective responsibility towards society and the environment. The vibrant participation and positive energy displayed by everyone made the event truly meaningful and inspiring.
The spirit of yoga resonated across the DCPIS campus, filling hearts and minds with positivity, mindfulness, and renewed vigor.
